ExpertSafety has completed a series of Training Programmes which are designed to provide the employee with appropriate training so as to ensure their competency in the area of health and safety. This is particularly important to employers as they are legally required to provide competent staff and supervisors / managers. From a legal perspective training is one of the three key criteria in establishing competency – training, knowledge and experience. In addition the provision of training helps to demonstrate the corporate safety culture and ultimately leads to accident reduction, reduced insurance claims and the operation of a successful profitable organisation.

Managing Safely in the Sport, Recreation & Leisure Sectors


This an IOSH accredited health and safety training programme that is aimed at Owners, Supervisors and Managers of those facilities pertaining to the Sport, Recreation and Leisure sectors e.g gyms, schools, hotels, clubs and societies, equestrian centres etc. The is a sophisticated interactive course which is run over a four day period and covers the following topics:

  • Understanding your legal responsibilities

  • Safety Management Systems

  • Risk Management

  • Accident, Incident and Near Miss Investigation

  • Performance measurement

  • Occupational Health

  • Environmental Considerations

  • Other issue – Industry specific considerations

    Bespoke Safety Training


    Bespoke training refers to those training programmes specifically requested by Organisations to comprehensively address a particular training weakness within their organisation. Clients often use this type of training as a mechanism to address a weakness identified following an accident, incident or near miss. It has often used by Organisations to communicate very specific health and safety issues to Executives or Directors. Some recent examples of Bespoke Training carried out by ExpertSafety are:

  • Supervisors and Managers responsibilities under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005

  • Electrical Safety Awareness – This provides the non-electrical employee with a suitable level of competency to monitor electrical works. This is an excellent half day programme that has had very positive feedback to date

  • Working at heights – Working at height training is a legal requirement for all persons in the workplace who are engaged in working at a height activity e.g. standing on a step ladder to change a light bulb, standing on a step stool to put a folder on a shelf, entering a manhole, working on a scaffold etc. Risk Assessments should address this issue and the need for training be highlighted from same. This is a half day training programme.

  • Others: ExpertSafety can facilitate in the provision of manual handling training, confined spaces training,tool box talks, abrasive wheels, mini seminars etc.

  • Temporary Works - This provides the supervisor / Manager or Director with a suitable level of competency to manage their temporary works on site . This is an intensive full day training programme aimed at the non-designer. Companies such as John Paul Construction, BAM, Walls, Collen, JJ Rhatigans, CLM Properties, Kelly Builders Ltd. CBRE and Stewarts have attended this course.
